I got the shock of my life yesterday when I saw this.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2113976860/heroquest-25th-anniversary , they have only been going two days and already have $426,601 (CAD), a hell of a lot more than the $58,000 they needed. Its going to be a long year waiting for this.
I would love to get in on this but they have no license for it. I have to be a bit concerned as to whether Hasbro or GW will put the clamper on it. Made in the USA but shipped from Spain or seems a bit odd to me.
ReplyDeleteGames Workshop only owned the rights to the miniatures used in Heroquest, so they have no say in this. Hasbro owns the rights to HeroQuest and have given permission to Gamezone, so I don't see much of a problem.
DeleteSweet!!
ReplyDeleteI did see the question get asked:
"Will there be legal issues we should be worried about?" "No, GZ possesses the rights to this product there is no possible C&D"
From the kickstarter site: "Heroquest 25th Anniversary (Canceled) is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable."
ReplyDeleteWell... crap. I can only hope that GW sees this as proof that they need to be working on this, and get it done asap!
