The Haul

I stopped by my friend Lee's house earlier and after having a ferrit about in his loft came away with the above horde of goodies, plus a bunch of Hero Quest furniture, one rather warped board, at least two decks of Treasure and Spell cards and a whole bunch of broken mini's.

The good stuff is as follows..

8 Battlemasters Orcs
7 Battlemasters Beastmen
7 Battlemasters Chaos Archers
8 Battlemasters Goblins
4 Battlemasters Goblin Wolf Riders (2 with wolves)
1 Battlemasters Chaos Warrior
2 Plastic horses
3 Heroquest Orcs
2 Heroquest Goblins
4 Heroquest Fimir
2 Heroquest Chaos Warriors
1 Heroquest Sorceror
The Wizard, Barbarian and Dwarf from Heroquest
2 Heroquest Skeletons
1 Heroquest Zombie
1 Heroquest Mummy
2 Space Crusade Gretchen
17 Advanced Heroquest Skaven (without shields)
1 1993 Bugman
1 1993 Dwarf Champion (Eyepatch Dwarf)
1 Advanced Heroquest Elf
1 Plastic Empire Wizard (the one with the sphere in his hand) <-- Mine from the early 90's
2 Grenadier Orcs from 1992 <--2nd set of miniatures I ever bought

Pretty nice huh?

Commissar's

Some more Commissar's for the 13th Albion. Only one of these is a proper GW miniature, the girl with the flowing coat is from Raging Heroes, and is quite nice if a little spindly. The other is a one eyed female SS officer that was given away at Hammerhead 2011 which I managed to snag off a guy on the LAF forums.

Hirelings for HeroQuest

So after several months of house work, leaking washing machines, and minding the parents dog, I finally got around to having a game of HeroQuest, and it was decided that we needed Henchmen to hire on.

So I picked up a box set of Brettonian Men at Arms, and after several mishaps with superglue, I got 8 painted up, 4 henchmen, 1 Sargent, 1 monk, 1 jester/bard and an archer. Now I just need some rules.

And in case anyone was wondering, these are a nightmare to put together, hence why I stopped at 8.

"That Floating Fat Man"

A nice little Reaper mini that gave me all kinds of problems just getting him to stay on the damn spindly little flight stand...

Furniture

Some new furniture I picked up from Unearthed Games, the new game shop that has opened up in Middlesbrough, seems a friendly place with a nice game room upstairs. Anyhow, this stuff should go well in a game of HeroQuest.

Griselda

I haven't been doing any painting as of late, just noticed I didn't make any posts for September. Anyhow, I finally got to sit down and paint yesterday and got this little miniature, I bought off ebay in 2005, painted up.

This is Griselda who was released by Games Workshop some time in the 80's as part of a box set of White Dwarf Personalities, of which I have 3 more from the set to paint up some time.

4A Miniatures Tech Priest

One of 4A Miniatures new releases, a retro looking Tech Priest that wouldnt look out of place with a bunch of old school Rogue Trader miniatures. A real nice and easy to paint sculpt, and dirt cheap to. Get them now. http://www.fouraminiatures.com/page2.htm

Foundry Street Violence Chicks with Guns

Some more various Street Violence girls from Foundry Ive had for a while. Real happy with the way the two roller blading girls and the "naval" lass have turned out. The "naval" lass I think is supposed to look like the girl from Under Siege, one of only two Seagal film's I enjoyed...(the other was Executive Decision, but thats really a Kurt Russell film)

William the Bloody (Awful)

Another hasslefree miniature, this time their adventurer William, who is clearly meant to be Spike from the Buffy and Angel TV series. This really is a nice simple little model that just oozes character.

Youth of Today

Another batch of Hasslefree Miniatures, I think HF makes up the second largest part of my lead collection. Three more from thier kids range, dont let thier size fool you, these brats are armed with some serious weaponry, machete, carving knife and a...doll?....

Another Scav

Police Battle Suit

A local bargain supermarket chain here has got quite the stock of these plastic prepainted robot toys called Androidz, anyhow I picked a few up, and decided to have a go at repainting one of them, and this is what I came up with. Not bad for 59 pence, oh and that is a 40mm base.

Colette Du Bois, painted as Mad Moxxi

Another Malifaux miniature, this time painted up as Mad Moxxi from Borderlands.

Malifaux Body Thieves

Ive been eyeing up Malifaux stuff up for a while, but not much of the stuff they do matched the style of many of my other projects, that was until I came across the Body Thieves box set. the Doctor, assistant and the construct where nice and easy to paint up, but the Nurses..God they were a pain in the arse..

Trixie (Again)

This is the third Trixie Ive painted, but its a nice easy miniature to paint, and whats better is the fact that its a freebie from Ramshackle Miniatures. Everytime I make an order I make sure to include a Trixie.

Rogue Trader Servitor

Picked this guy up off ebay a few weeks ago, I wanted to paint him up to match my other Servitors, so a blue jumpsuit for being a close combat Servitor, and green decayed skin for being a techno zombie, though I think I went a bit overboard on the green wash.

Future War Biker

Another em4 miniature for my Future Wars project, I got this guy as a freebie a while ago, not a bad little figure.

Scavengers, Waitress and a Teddy

Two more em4 Savages, and a waitress from Black Scorpion. The tray shes carrying includes an hourglass, a bottle, a candle and a playing card...and shes brought a teddy bear in bondage gear along...for some reason...

HeroQuest Goblins

Its been a while since I posted anything, because its been a while since I painted anything. I'm slowly getting back into painting after a few weeks of stressed out hell at work, the stress doesn't seem to be getting any better but at least I'm getting some painting done.

Some space dwarfs from Hasslefree, I may get another 6 and then have a proper Dirty Dozen.

The last of my Chaos Warriors, painted in a stone theme for the HeroQuest mission "The Stone Hunters".

Chainsaw Bondage (Sisters part 6)

I finished off an Inquisitor the other day, though I'm going to use her as a Veteran Sister for my second battle squad (sorry for the poor photo).

I also managed to finish off the last of the Repentia Sisters, though I still have to start the whip weilding Mistress with the stupid flame helmet...

HeroQuest Game Pictures

We managed to get another game of HeroQuest in a few nights ago, playing through the "Legacy of the Orc Warlord" mission. The heroes had to escape from a cell, find thier equipment then escape, though Lee, who was in charge of the heroes decided to just rampage across the map unarmed and wipe out almost all the monsters before ehr got the dwarf tooled up to kill Grak the Orc Warlords son. It was a good game and was the first that all painted miniatures were used, which made me a happy chap.

(Due to IE9's issues with Blogspot Im forced to use Opera, which doesnt like me posting text between the photo's.)

Yet more HeroQuest stuff

I rattled off a few more Undead for HeroQuest over the last two days, the Skeletons were nice and quick, as was the Mumie, but the Zombies gave me a few problems. I couldn't remember how to paint rotting flesh and ended up with a green blue wash mix on one, kinda reminds me of a 70's zombie movie. While I was at it, I got the big guy painted up as a statue, rather than painting him as a demon, as he is a Gargoyle in HeroQuest, not a Bloodthirster.

While Im in the fantasy mood, I dug through the lead mountain and dug out a tomb and a treasure chest, both from the same Reaper set, they should look good on the board.

Are you my Mumie?

Two more for the HeroQuest project, I should have done the undead first, apart from the Zombies, the skeleton's and mumies are easy.

Space Gremlins

Something you really dont want to find in the engine room of your space ship. Four A miniatures produce these little critters, I wish they would get some more, 3 just isnt enough!

Fairy Catcher

The horned Orc with his captive fairy, perhaps he is going to sell her...or eat her....

One very cluttered miniature....
