Wasteland Desert Rangers
I've been playing the Wasteland 2 beta for quite some time now, despite its unfinished state and near constant crashes. With it came a copy of the original Wasteland, a game I had never got around to playing back in the day (despite owning two computers that could run it). To be honest age has not been kind to Wasteland, and with out a manual in my hand I have no idea how anything works, one of these days I will sit down and figure out how to play it. Still, in honor of those two games I present, Hell Razor, Snake Vargas, Thrasher and Angela Deth, the original four Desert Rangers.

Albion 13th Mustered 2014 Edition
I figured it would be a good idea to get another picture (or 15) of my army displayed, as its been over a year since the last one, thought it might be interesting to see whats been added in 12 months. Enjoy.

Some randomness
Just a bit of randomness from last month I thought I would share. From left to right we have Hasslefree's Major Stephanie, three Void Militia members, and finally an old WOTC Star Wars metal Smuggler.

Screamer Killer
When I was a young nipper, and all my mates had copies of HeroQuest or SpaceCrusade, I had to make do with Monopoly or Cluedo (Clue for those of you in the US), looking in wonder at these games with miniatures. Then in '91 my friend Lee was given copies of Advanced HeroQuest and Blood Bowl while I purchased a copy of White Dwarf #146 (Feb 1992), inside was a wealth of info on Dreadnoughts, though two took my fancy, the Ork Dreadnought with the Gretchin poking out of the top hatch, and the Screamer Killer.
Fast forward 22 years later and I finally acquired a Screamer Killer albeit with a few plastic bits glued on.
The issue that started it all for me...Oh and I finally got my first Games Workshop game, a copy of HeroQuest in 2005 thanks to my cousin who rescued his unloved copy (though still in great shape) from the rubbish tip.

Catachan Captain
Yet another old 40K miniature that's been sat about for a while. I'm not sure why I painted him up as I don't have a squad for him and I'm not to fond of his 80's action hero look, not to mention you cant use a bolter and power fist...Guess I just felt sorry for the poor bugger.

Flame Thrower Special Weapons Squad
I've never much thought of these types of squads, 6 men? I figured they wouldn't be much use for anything, but as I had parts for three flame throwers sat about I had another look and think, I realized that a small unit like this would be handy (fluff wise) to plug any gaps in a gun wall, or for strong point clearing, as for game wise? I don't really care!
The basic troopers that back the flamers up. These guys where badly painted second hand models I picked up for a quid a piece and quickly repainted in the Albion 13th colors.
The specialists themselves, two of them are left overs from the 40 or so guardsmen I picked up in 2012 and dettol stripped, the third (with shades) was made up from left over Cadian and tank commander parts.

Officio Prefectus Commissar
Good lord that's a mouthful...why change the Commissariat to Officio Prefectus? It's even harder to pronounce! Anyhow, this is a nice plastic model that was really easy to put together (only glued two fingers together), and comes with a bolt pistol and an over sized plasma pistol, now while Im a fan of the plasma, I felt a bolt pistol would make more sense for a Commissar.

Talarn Squad
Another Talarn squad (I think this is the third) made up of left over models, as a result it has duplicates, now while I know with the older metals duplicates are something that cant be avoided, having four of the same model is just a nightmare to my mind.
The first rank is made up of the usual suspects, missile launcher and metagunner, two regualr gaurdsmen and a second Cadian Company Commander now demoted to squad sergeant.
Attack of the clones!!! the four duplicates....I tried to at least make one look a bit different by giving him a red turban, which still ties into the colors of the Albion 13th.

Devil Dog
I decided to build up my Hellhound Squadron with the addition of a Devil Dog rather than another flamethrower tank, the melta cannon makes this unit a rather nice tank hunter, and the hull mounted heavy flamer still gives it a edge on infantry.
This brings up the total of tanks for the Albion 13th to seven, still one more Hellhound to add, and then three for the last heavy support option....Another Leman Russ squadron, or an Ordance battery?

Mordian Iron Guard
I've had this old 2nd edition 40K box set sat about for a few years, and I finally got around to them the other day, its just a shame GW included duplicates in the old squad box when there was other sculpts they could have used...
The old style lascannon is much better looking than the current plastic one.
I think the uniforms came out quite nicely.
