Hasslefree Randomness

Last post of the year with some miniatures kindly supplied (for money) by Hasslefree.
This year I picked up 223 miniatures, and got 215 painted, yet only managed 63 posts on this blog....well hopefully in 2016 I can get more painting done now that I shouldnt be working abroad so much, we will see.
Anyhow, Happy New Year.

Chaos Raider

Plastic raider from the current 40K starter set.

Platoon 5 Squad 4

Yet another squad of Imperial Guard. Using the heretic vox caster along with nine other guardsmen made up of the regular kit, with a few extra bits and bobs thrown in for good measure. I'm actually quite proud of the cyborg headed trooper, as I've been wanting to use that spare Space Marine head for a few years now.

Taurox Prime

So I decided to buy one of these newer transport kits, but after looking at the in game stats (though I'm not bothered about those to be fair) there seems to be no reason to take the bog standard Taurox over a Chimera, so I built a Prime for my StormTroopers. Enjoy.

Imperial Guard Vox Caster

I took part in a sprue exchange, what this means is a box posts its way around the UK and Europe, when it arrives you take the bits you like/want/need and add what you don't, and send it on. Anyhow, it turned up and inside was a converted Imperial Guard trooper with a vox helmet and for some reason a Tau energy weapon. So I added a Vox Caster back pack and painted him up, I suppose this trooper grabbed himself a war trophy and now hopes the Commissars don't notice. Now I just need a squad to go with him.

Sister Repentia

A Battle Sister Repentia from Wargames Exclusive. It's a resin model and has some nice detail which were a bit of a pain to pick out, still I enjoyed painting it.

Hill Giant

I recently picked up a prepainted plastic Pathfinder Hill giant, which was swiftly repainted and touched up.

And if you were curious to how big this fella is, here he is next to a Reaper Mutant and Hasslefree survivor. 

Hasslefree Survivors

I recently took advantage of Hasslefree's Halloween sale, took a while to get the miniatures painted due to working away, but finally here is the group, featuring some Left 4 Dead inspired characters.

Random Post Apoc Selection

I managed to recently finish a smattering of random miniatures over the last few weeks, and rather than make a number of small posts, I decided to just make one (still small) post.
From left to right, we have an old Grenadier Cyperpunk hacker, An explorer and a merchant from Colony 87, a pulp jungle heroine from Lucid Eye, and finally a not-Furiosa and not-Ripley from Crooked Dice.

A selection of pulpy cultists from Crooked Dice. Though I'm pretty sure they can be used in many different settings.

Checkpoint

Another lump of resin terrain from Aintsy. I left the roof loose for ease of access. From a distance it doesn't look to bad, but flat surfaces are a bitch to paint...

Leman Russ Punisher

I've been struggling for months, trying to decide what to place as my 3rd and final heavy support choice, did I go with the dumb looking Basilisks, or did I opt for another 3 Leman Russ's? As you can see the Russ won out and the first tank in my second squadron just had to be an anti infantry Punisher, armed to the teeth with Bolters galore.

Who You Gonna Call?

Crooked Dice's Paranormal Exterminators, based off Ghostbusters. As usual I struggled to paint miniatures from Crooked Dice...Not sure why that is.

Heavy Weapons Teams - Lascannons

Been a while since I posted anything, or painted anything for that matter, working away in Holland and doing exams has really took a toll on me thins past month, hopefully once September is out of the way I can get back into the swing of things.... here's hoping.

Lucid Eye Amazon's (with Tarzan)

Amazon warriors from Lucid Eye, with Tarzan along for the ride. Not sure why they are all blonde, other than I couldn't be bothered painting them separate colors, ah laziness my old friend.

Colony 87 Porter

Imperial Guard Missile Teams

Although I use a lot of missile guys in my regular squads, I didn't have a dedicated heavy weapons squad, well now I do, which adds some nice tank hunting options without forking out for more tanks.

Zombicide Barricades

Two plastic barricades that came with the Zombicide Season 3 Kickstarter, with a Hasslefree punk for scale. The barricades actually split in two, but I prefer them as a solid chunk.

Escher Ganger (Conscripts Part 16)

The last of the converted Escher gangers finally painted up that brings the final tally of my Conscript squad up to forty, ten more to go....

Two new girls from Hasslefree Miniatures. Pretty sure they are supposed to be BSG's Starbuck.

Wrecked Bus

Had this monster for a few weeks now and got around to painting it at the weekend while bored. I'm chuffed at how well the yellow came out.

This is another massive Ainsty resin cast, and as usual had no major problems or defects, and was a joy to paint.

Platoon 5 Squad 3 - Ginger Troopers

A mashup of spare parts once again, this time using almost all the bare heads I had left, and a Space Marine Melta Gun, I like the white gloved power armor hand, the chap must think hes Micheal Jackson. As I was painting these I couldn't be arsed  painting the hair random colours so just painted them all orange/red, the ginger squad.

Old Dark Age Miniatures

Picked up a used deal the other week, not sure who they are uspposed to be, but Im using them in my post apoc project as demented cultists.

Randomness

Just a small selection of random miniatures I painted over the weekend. An alien rock-star from Lucid Eye, Black Scorpion's Salute '15 limited miniature, and Hasslefree's Rogue Trader/Inquisitor.

Rogue Trader Terminator Squad

A squad of Space Marine Terminators led by an Inquisitor in Terminator Armour. These older sculpts are quite nice in a static blocky kind of a way, rather than the over the top action pose of todays sculpts. I want four more now.

Hasslefree Sci-fi Light Trooper

A more lightly armored variant of Hasslefree's sci-fi troopers. Another resin cast as this fellow is brand new in the web store and isn't in metal yet.
I like the padded armor on this chap, make it look like he's used for rapid assault than the more heavy armored fellas.

Rogue Trader Terminator

An unknown pattern of Terminator, at least according to Lexicanum.com.

Reaper Barbarians

 You cant go wrong with Reaper Miniatures for fantasy themed stuff. The three female barbarians are older sculpts and are now a budget 3 pack, to be fair, only the fur bikini is worthwhile out of the set. The male barbarians are clear cut Conan clones, though the chap in the middle is fairly spiky.

I painted fur bikini up to resemble Red Sonja from "Blue" and "Unchained" written by Peter V Brett, my current favorite new author.

Chimera

 Yet another tank completed for the Albion 13th, taking my total number of transports up to 3. This time I went for a turret mounted multi laser and hull mounted heavy flamer, and for good measure, a pintle heavy stubber.

I went a bit overboard on the white panelling on the skirts, but I think it came out ok. I also like the way the commander has come out, as if hes cheering on the rest of the armour.

Platoon 5 Squad 2 - Female Troopers

 The next squad of Guardsmen, not that you can really tell from my rather terrible skin painting, but these are the Heroic 28mm Female heads from Statuesque Miniatures. The heads fit the Cadian bodies quite nicely.

On building the squad, I forgot to add a heavy weapon....
